Simple country living. It is a style that seems to bring about a sense of comfort, peace and simplicity that reflects on how people lived “back in the day.” Being a part of generation Y, I was brought up with technology, competitiveness to be the best, and self-reliance. I can’t help but compare how different my life is from those that lived in the early 1900’s, and how in many (if not most) ways their lives were better despite all of the hardship. People were simple back then, with grounded beliefs and warm thoughts toward others. Everyone worked together to survive.
I like how in a way the country style reveals some of these characteristics. I love the simplicity of the accessories and the warm rustic wood tones against the neutral walls.
I love design, decorating, cooking and DIY projects. My style is a mixture of cottage and shabby chic style with industrial and eclectic elements. Check out my LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com/in/aliciaholdridge) for examples of my professional and student portfolio. [...]read full page
